is on the first page of each year. That’s where I got lost, Thanks for all
your help. Theresa

Teresa, it is there. One small detail on the index list is that your page
is 7v (verso) which means back. Go back to 1876 page 7 go next and you will
find Agostinho on page 7v

Looking at this page it appears to be an index of Baptisms. At the top of
the page the L12 means Livro 12 or Book 12. Say you were looking for Francisca
the
It is on the back side of page 7. See here

Hi Teresa!
I found the first name registered in the Índice at the page pointed there…
Adriano son of… at page 167
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-PD-FENAISDALUZ-B-1780-1792/SMG-PD-FENAISDALUZ-B-1780-1792_item1/P170.html

Livro #9 is 1780 the first in the series, but the names and numbers do not
correspond to the book Livro #9.. Neither do the ones in the later books
1880-1889. I don’t get it!

I am looking at the Fenais da Luz, Indices Batismos 1780-1889 and I don’t
understand how to read it. I think it is Espositos. I see the names and what
appears to be pages but I don’t find a page that matches. Anyone who has an
explanation would help. Thanks

For options, such as
You will find Sanches in Ribeira Grande and Lagoa, São Miguel, in the
1600's as well.
