Thanks, Rosemarie, Rick, and Manoel. I have the baptisms of four of their children, and Antonia's surname is given as "dos Santos" on all but one of them. I was thinking of it as her religious name, but it could be a surname. I like the suggestion of "de Ruda" however, because two of the children
