If you think they married in Providence, then check with Holy Rosary in
Foxpoint. You want to know what it says in the marriage book, even if it is
Latin. It very well may state which freguesia (village) your ancestor was
from.

I have found mary/Maria and Manuel together only once on the 19
Should be there by Monday. It's usually just 1 day different.

The bar chart for the ethnic origins is called "My Origins." It has an

Yes, it is like looking for a needle in the haystack. That's why you need

Shouldn't the fact that I have his exact birthday help narrow it down?

I was reading down the list and see many names that are on my line but I

He's not the easiest to deal with. In the last 90s, an associate priest was
assigned there who did genealogy. He tried to get Fr. Oliveira to
understand why we asked for the records. Don't know how successful he was.

No, but he might be able to access the information since it came with him

I'm talking about St. John the Baptist, since many of our immigrant
ancestors to the New Bedford region went to St. John's. I typed up the list
for the whole 141 years. I doubt anyone has an immigrant ancestor in 1995
married by Fr. Oliveira. Lol

Yes, the Archdiocese is in Fall River. I just sent an inquiry to the
church though, as I had been looking at another church for the
information. So thank you for that and we'll see if they respond. The
Archdiocese requests appointments and had a 6 - 8 week response rate for
