It seems the priest wrote using plurals saying the her and her husband are
natives (naturais) and parishioners (freguezes) of this parish. He may
have made an incorrect assumption about her birthplace. I checked
Francisco's 1740 baptism and it clearly says the father is from this
parish, but
Okay. Perhaps I have just been lucky in the past, as I have often been able
to get that info. What was the sons name? That info also is helpful.
I appreciate it greatly Linda!

hi Jeremy,
It's my observation that the obituary records typically mention a woman's
parents only if she died having never married. Once a woman married, her
identity changed from being tied to her father/parents to being tied to her
husband.
I scanned the record for your ancestor, and afte
Yes you have the date. I think she was 58.

The current count of the 14 people who claim their strict maternal ancestor
came from the Azores and are in Haplogroup V:
No location listed: 5
Flores: 2
Sao Miguel: 3
Santa Maria: 4
However, this is not a true random sample. It's people who chose to test
for genealogical purposes.

Hi David,
I remember seeing a small % on my uncle John Cardoza Baptiste. His maternal
line is from Pico and paternal from Sao Jorge. His Gedmatch # is T362726. His
mother is U5a and his Y is E-M183.
My kit # is T 235110 and my sister's is T775558
My brother, Brad Baptiste is also tested at
If they married in Agua de Pau, the marriage is missing. But another way to
find Lourenco, which is less common name, is to look for a Lourenco born to
a Rego family in St Cruz Lagoa or wherever you have clue.
Here are a couple of leads, one may be yours:
