I am trying to figure the last name of the deceased husband of the bride
Vicencia Rosa, I can make out Aur**io. It is the 5th line from the bottom

Madeira is digitizing their records too. Their site is called the ABM and
you can access it through Tombo.pt. However, I think the ABM is down at the
moment.
Madeira has only 2 islands: Madeira, (about the same population as Sao
Miguel) and Porto Santo.

The archive in Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel island only scanned their
records to 1905 or so. Not all were scanned to 1910/1911. The CCA considers
the genealogy project done and have moved on to other historical things on
the islands. :(

But it is not really a surname. It's more like Antonio Jose- that is two
first names. However, you may find he uses it as surname as many did in the
1800's or so.

Third line down- is the groom's father's last name Da Graco (d'Agrela?).
Also had a question on the name VELHA. Is it Velho for men and Vel

Andrew, unless you are planning a trip to the Azores you will have to hire
a researcher to do the research for you. You can go to the Azores GenWeb
site at: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~azrwgw/index.html and look for
the list that Kathy has of researchers for hire. Personally I have Joao
