Here's the paternal grandfather. Yours may vary.

started typing Portugal and it had a variety, so I picked basic Portugal,

Because the Azores, nor Madeira are countries. Portugal is the country. You
put Azores under "Other Group Affliate Details." I put "Born in Azores, Sao
Miguel island."
I'll do another one and screen shot it.

Ok Cher, here is where I show my total lack of knowledge. Do I put Portugal of
Kingdom of Portugal Algraves? Those are the choices, plus Timor which I know
isn’t what I want. My grandparents were born in the Azores.

A few years back (about 2013-2014), Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) did a survey,
asking for background information which they then incorporated into their
ethnicity estimates. Only 25 people of Portuguese descent answered. That
was all. "Portuguese" t

Hi Bill,
According to RR’s information entered in prior email; Balazar Velho son of
Domingos Velho, son of Manuel Fernandes da Silva, son of Francisco Vaz Delgado
and Catarina Goncalves.
The archives have files that include tree reconstructions of various work notes
including that of RR’s.
Hi Bill
Me again. Was the first marriage Jan 18 1698?
Was Gaspar also a widower of Maria Jacintha?
Was Maria Futra daughter of Francisco Dutra and a few more Francisco’s?
Looks like a Francisco Garcia is in there also?

Thank you so much Bill. I have found that many times on Circe that it gives
last names that the documents don’t. Thought it might be on parents or
grandparents names. That’s why I always want to verify and find document to
attach.
Again thank you

Thank you! I will try to find! That really helps because I thought I just
couldn't see the names.

Lucky, wow, I’d say that was nothing short of miraculous! Thanks everyone for
your take on this question. These name changes and combinations drive me to
the brink! LOL!

Now that I've had a chance to digest this outstanding (yet disappointing)
information, it seems that I found the wrong Manuel Fernandes da Silva
married to the wrong Maria Velha. The couple, with same names, that I
need, according to RR married in 1647 is Santa Barbara where the first
