I guess I should have said that my Portuguese to English translation gave me
birth seat.
So would that mean the number of that birth from the start of the year?
What was the purpose of using and assigning a number to a birth?
Thanks

It wasn't in the CCA sites, it was given to me from the Civil Registy people.
I thought that it probably is the number of that child that was born in that
year.
ie. The birth seat is 10 meaning it is the 10th child born that year.
Not sure what else it could be.
Thanks

Madalena is now corrected. Thanks Cheri.
I do have a name and date of birth but not the freguesia.
The family thinks Madalena but not sure where exactly.
I'm trying to narrow down the search for them as they are planning a trip
to the Azores this all.
How much can I do from here?
Thanks,
Howard

Birth dates are 1931 and May 5, 1928 respectively.

I'm looking for info for a friend.
The person I'm looking for was born in 1931 we believe in the Madelina district
of Pico.
No one knows which parish.
He did come to Canada in 1956 eventually settling in British Colmbia.
I realize that the limited info makes it difficult.
Thanks
