I am looking for information on the family of Francisco Silveria born about 1840 in Portugal (immigrated to Texas around 1857.) I have very limited information on him.
I know he had a nephew named Manoel Baptista and a niece named Luduvina Baptista that possibly lived in Lisbon. He also had a niece named Maria Amalia (surname unknown) and a nephew named Belchior (surname unknown) that lived in Portugal. Based on a letter, I believe he had a brother-in-law named Manoel Maria (surname unknown). The letter by Manoel Maria refers to Francisco as cunhado, which I think means brother-in-law. It seems that Francisco was the only one of his family to move from Portugal to Texas. I know that he was in Lisbon, Portugal visiting his family in 1909 based on a letter I have. I also have photos of various Portuguese relatives but I am unable to identify the people in the photos. Also, has anyone with Portuguese ancestry taken the ancestry.com DNA test?
