Serequi? I have never ever heard of a portuguese surname as such.
Is it miss spelled?

***The Seriqui family came from Morocco to the Azores because of the Spanish Inquisition. The first four "children" were born in Morocco but Miguel Benarus Seriqui and Luna Benarus Seriqui were born in Terceira until the parents, Miguel, and the girls came to Boston in the 1880s. The two sons, Salão (Solon) Benarus Seriqui and David Benarus Seriqui went to Brazil. I have no information on when but they both died in 1915, supposedly in São Paulo, Brazil. They would have been born before 1861 which is when Miguel was born.
