Also what I did was research the siblings and check if they were naturalized.

encountered the same situation where I couldn't find this person on
any of the ship lists.

If you will give names, birthyears, when they came to US best of your
knowledge, where they lived in the US, spouse, children's names, etc. I
will try to find the manifest for you and any other info I can dig up.

Need a name, date of event (death or whatever) and location.
Death certificates varied over time. Some ask certain questions, others
don't. And your ancestor wasn't the person giving the info on his own
death certificate. So many things on the death aren't always accurate.

I have my great grandfathers death certificate which doesn't say much. I
can't find him on any of the ship lists. All I know he is from Sao Miguel.
Any suggestions on how I would be able to find out if he did become a
citizen or other routes I might be able to take?
