Maybe you are H47 or something and they haven't discovered it yet. FTDNA
will periodically update as the science evolves.

Mary, those numbers after the H look like a mutation designation at marker
16,129 G (guanine) was replaced by A (adenine). I have a lot more
mutations than just one and would think that you would also. I wonder why
they included that in your haplogroup designation.

I did a full mtDNA test and my haplogroup is a straight H and has not
changed.

Oh, good to know that it needs to be the FMS. I believe that's what I
upgraded to (back in 2009--where has the time gone?).
At one point my haplogroup was H but it was refined quite a while ago to
H-G16129A!
I only have one match and that's at the lowest level. Fortunately he is
Portuguese!
Mary
It will change only if you tested the Full Mitochondrial Sequence (FMS)
Test.
I did the FMS on both my parents. I didn't memorize what they were. It
seems like my dad's is longer. I think his changed. I don't think my mom's
did. Maybe her part of the haplotree hasn't been refined as much.
Cheri
I also checked after receiving that email. No change for me either. I'm an
H with a bunch of numbers after it.

I just received an email from FTDNA announcing some changes with its mtDNA
testing. As of yet I haven't noticed any changes to my haplogroup (H).
Has anyone here noticed any changes?
