Hi all, Can anyone do a footnote lookup - I keep hitting the dreaded brick wall.
I am trying another angle on my search for the Lajes do Pico sisters (Maria & Francisca). Their parents were Maria Sao Jose and Manuel Machado. I am wondering if it is possible that they used their mothers maiden name as their last name. I have found a record that may help or not .... Here they are ... Last Name First Name Town Years Volume Page Type de Sao Jose Maria Rosalia New Bedford 1894 442 203 Marriage I am wondering if Silvia is her daughter ??? Like I said ... a different angle. Last Name First Name Town Years Volume Page Type Gomes Silvia Fall River 1909 582 266 Birth I found the above record on Massachusetts Vital Records Indexed 1841 - 1895 It can also be found at footnote.com.
