GedMatch, a third party tool site for DNA, has been bought out by
Verogen, forensic
genomics company that serves the law enforcement community. So far, nothing
has changed in their Terms of Service. One just needs to log into GedMatch
and agree to the Terms (the only new term at this time is the buy out by
Verogen).

Read Judy Russell, The Legal Genealogist's, article. She does mention that
European users who don't log in and agree to the new terms (the buyout)
will have their profiles deleted a year from now. For those who feel the
use by law enforcement is an invasion of privacy, or unreasonable, or
whatever your beliefs may be, you can opt out, or delete your profile(s).
For those who feel that they are helping catch violent criminals by
allowing law enforcement to search the database, you log into GedMatch,
agree to their terms, then opt in.

Judy's article is here:

NOTE: GedMatch is NOT a DNA testing company. They are a third party tool,
not owned by any DNA testing company. They have some fancy chromosome
browsers, other ethnicity estimates, the Evil Twin tool, the Lazarus tool,
and other advanced tools (some tools are $10 USD a month to access. Pay for
one month at a time). GedMatch as tools to play with, in addition to what
the DNA vendors offer you at their own companies.
