I think the priest just wrote "Feteira" in the son's death record and did
not specify which one. It's more than I had. I was going back through some
of my earlier work trying to get more of the family group in and cleaning
up some loose ends, like the missing death on this couple.

sprinkling the holy water, and burying him.
I can't find his wife Maria dying in Sao Miguel Arcanjo in Vila Franca. She
may have lived with one of her kids and died in a freguesia over. The hunt
goes on.

"Encomandação de costume" : Encomadação is recomendation to the soul of the
died personn. "de costume" = usual, what is the minimum.

"encomendação" is an order (instruction or charge) or commission. The
priest was given money to carry out (encomendacao) a burial according to
custom. The deceased was accompanied by the priest to the cemetery and
buried according to custom.
