Lisa S, I don't believe any were denied. I seem to remember João Ventura,
the archivist, stating that fact. I suppose if any were, they would be with
these dispensations - if they exist. That's the thing...not all of the

Garca that received dispensations in pre and early 1700's stating 4th
degree consanguinity. If ever I found the document that could take some of
my ancestors back to 1600 or before. Maybe one day...
