In any event, all the children of Manuel Jacome and Guiomar Velha were born
and baptised, Sao Pedro, Ilha de Santa Maria. They may have lived in
Ribeira Seca, as the wording of the records can be quite confusing in terms
of indication whether were natives or simply living in Vila Franca area.

Yes, that is why I was asking. I know about the Ribeira Seca by Vila
Franca, but his notes do not state that. I didn't know if he was looking up
by Ribeira Grande. It's confusing for the newbies. And if Ribeira Seca #2
is a small village today but it wasn't in the 1700s, should we be listing
it as
That's Ribeira Seca, Vila Franca, then a small neighbourhood on border
between Ribeira das Tainhas and Vila Franca. Today it is small village.

marriage never took place because this looks like it says "sol.a (single?)
desposada com Nicolau de Souza. Desposada also means betrothed.

I believe this is the marriage of (starts bottom left) Nicolau and
