Hi Nancy,

Out of curiosity, what street is your house located in Santo Amaro, Pico?

I have many ancestors from Santo Amaro. I would have to look, but I think when it was stated, it was said to be in the Terra Alta area.
When I was there, I drove in a rental and parked at the top of a street that I think was located in Terra Alta. It was a beautiful view.

Some day I would like to try to figure out exactly where mine lived.

Lots of people in Sacramento have ancestors from Santo Amaro.

Happy New Year, "E"!

I'd love to know where she's building. Maybe sh'e a neighbor! Maybe we've even met over there. The summer months are filled with people whose roots are there. They say the Portuguese economy is in trouble and so it is but the money being put into land and construction in Pico is obvious all over the island. There's so much building going on......just in Santo Amaro there are houses being built by someone from England, Spain 3 U.S., Canada.....it's pretty amazing.
Lucky her to be there for 3 months and in her new place! She's living my dream!

Best regards,
Nancy Jean
