Also, I would check the Horta passports. I've seen lots of folks from Sao Jorge
that came out of Horta.

According to *Morton Allen's Directory of Steamship Arrivals*, the
Peninsular ONLY came in on Feb 5, Apr 9, June 6 and Sept 15th of 1894. It
came into New Bedford MA & NY Harbor at that time. If you give me a call I
can perhaps direct on how to get the ship list and look at it page
-by-page.
