Lisa, I'm thinking that you need to find him on the Azores Passport lists to make sure just what name he used in coming to the US. Have you found him there? Maybe the May 1894 is when he received his Passport and then he arrived in the US on June 6th? Look at the end of May back to the beginning o

Lisa, According to *Morton Allen's Directory of Steamship Arrivals*, the Peninsular ONLY came in on Feb 5, Apr 9, June 6 and Sept 15th of 1894. It came into New Bedford MA & NY Harbor at that time. If you give me a call I can perhaps direct on how to get the ship list and look at it page -by-page.
