In both Polencia's and Francisco's records, the paternal gf looks like
"J.e", Jose, to me.
coincidentally, I recently found "Furtado Trigueiro" in my Flores tree...
mid to late 18th c. and just about the end of the line for me.

I'm not Eric nor do I know what you are talking about. But I do know the
abbreviation for Jose is J^e (raised "e") and the abbreviation for
Francisco is Fran^co (raised "co"). They should be fairly easy to tell
apart.

this message. In Policina's birth record I thought I saw the father's name
as Jose but you saw it as Francisco. Can you tell me how you figured
that out from the abbreviations? I always appreciate your sharp eyes and
TRIGUEIRO, is a portuguese surname.
