I'm already using BackupPC for some time, but now I have a special case:
I have to backup only all files with the extension .JPG or .jpg. I'm
using rsync as transport method and the following configuration:
$Conf{RsyncShareName} = [
'/raid/Luxdaten/LuxKalk/Krausler_Anbote/'
];

it says you are the wrong user because you need to be the backuppc user.
you should be able to 'su backuppc' and become the backuppc user. then you
can run the command.

Hi
I'm using backuppc v2.1.2 on ubuntu and need to somehow save 2 large
directories out of a backup.
The problem is that the restore to zip or tar file fails because the
files are too big for my web browser to download (I think). The data
is 40GB in one directory before backuppc grabs it and 16G

Hello,
I have backuppc installed a long time ago but removed (apt-get remove

it a more serious evaluation and tried to install it (apt-get install

Hello!
I have a host that is ~200GB big. Every week I use the archive function
via cronjob to create an archive to a removable hard drive--part of my
off-site backup.
The backup server hardware is not terribly powerful (VIA 1500MHz CPU),
but it meets all of my needs (especially size and power
Hello!
I am using the following command within a script that is part of a cron job:
/usr/share/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_serverMesg archive backuppc archive
archiveReq.$1.cron.0
where $1 is the hostname to be backed up. This works fine with hosts
with, say, only alpha characters (like localhost),

I believe --hard-links is a default option. At least I don't recall
adding it and I have it in my config.pl.
Nils Breunese.
please ignore this entire post. egregious user error was involved.
my apologies.
summary: adding --hard-links to the commandline for a previously backed-up
system works fine -- files that used to be just files become hard-links,
as they should.
sorry for the noise.

That's Holger... Sorry about the misspelling.

Hi,
Since I upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 I've this error when I try to view the
directory listing of a client.
Software error:
Can't locate object method "dirRead" via package "BackupPC::Lib" at
/usr/local/BackupPC/lib/BackupPC/View.pm line 133.
What can I do to resolve this problem ?
