I saw that one and appreciate the help! I was hoping they were going to issue a
fix for the whole distribution. Backuppc is hard enough to get to work with
Fedora, I hate to add another whole section of stuff that has to be set
manually.

Hello everyone,
As I mentioned earlier this month, I'm adding some functionality to
BackupPC, and one of the things I'm working on is the BackupFilesOnly /
BackupFilesExclude syntax. After some thought, I've come up with a syntax
that I want some feedback on.
BackupFilesOnly:

I have opened a bugzilla ticket. They are requesting a tcpdump of the
transaction between the backup server and the client. I have yet to
supply them with that data.
My "fix" was to download the stable version of samba, configure it,
build it, then do a make install. This will overwrite t

I stick with the defaults of incrementals every day, fulls every 7 days.
I save a lot of backups. For FullKeepCnt, I use: 5, 3, 14, 7, 7, 7
which saves years worth of backups. My data is fairly static, so it's
working so far (although I haven't hit the 1-year mark yet). I have

Yes it is easy. It is pretty efficient. Don't get all the fulls scheduled
for the same time. You are right, fulls are needed occasionally.
That is one of the reasons I like IBMs TSM (not free, by any stretch of the
imagination), because it does 'incremetals forever'.

Hi,
I new to backuppc and trying to get an installation of 3.1.0.1 going on
CentOS 4.6.
I tried a google search and didn't come up with an exact match for this
error.
The error below seems to be repeated for every file in the backup.
Has anyone seen this before?

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this? I am having the same issue with Fedora 9.
Thanks!

First of all, awesome back up program. I love the flexibility and power!
I was curious as to back up routines you all were running on a medium (~40
client set up) sized network.
I am starting with a 750 GB drive (mirrored with raid 1). I have done some
tests with clients and most full backups a
