But there is no way to have backuppc do this automatically if the backup
terminated because the network connection was lost? I had hoped that
backuppc could run unattended.
The log looks like this:

Greetings,
I've got a problem with a backup that seems to have started
with one failed backup back in January. Since then each
attempt at a new backup fails. The log shows

Les,
All I have access to is "cloud storage" offsite - running a remote
backuppc server is not an option. Basically, I have access to rsync /
sftp / scp as file transfer protocols. What do you think about running a
directory change monitor based upon the Linux kernel inotify() facility,

That's good to know, thanks. So the question is (only), how do I tell
backuppc to immediately start a new/queue (full or partial) backup, if the

Hi folks, long time user here (great tool), first time poster...
The FAQ still talks about setting FullPeriod to -1 or -2 to disable
backups instead of the newer method of setting BackupsDisable to 1 or 2:

I checked the cpool directory on my server and it contained 803,023
files in the directory tree. If rsync is not a scaleable solution for
backing up a backuppc pool over the internet, does anyone have a
suggestion for a better solution?

Hi - I am rather new with backuppc, but with the help of the docs and the
web managed to setup a basic, working environment, backing up a Linux
(ubuntu) machine and windows clients to an ubuntu (8.04.1) server running
backuppc 3.0.0 (from the repository).
Last night, I discovered that the initial,

The problem with rsync'ing a backuppc data pool is the sheer number of
files. you'll run your machine out of space with the lists as they get
loaded into memory.
up to a certain point it will work; and with newer versions
