Hi list,
Does anyone have a nice guide describing how to set up a Mac OS X's
Apache (Server or Client) to host BackupPC?
I am now facing the problem:
"Error: Wrong user: my userid is 70, instead of 502(backuppc)" when
communicating with the CGI.
As I understand it I need (for performance) a se

have anything to back up. This is Craig'

It was a suggestion..
I subscribe to dozens of Forums - whilst NOT perfect ... all I said is I

You might consider a more generic VPN tunnel like openvpn between the
backuppc server and the target(s)

Hi,
first of all, could we perhaps agree on one thread? They're all about the same
issue, and it's getting confusing.

Perhaps if the members agree, the forum can be present as to compliment

Holger, you state that "--delete*" are unsupported switches, why?
As you can read in my last new thread, I'd like just to do "syncs" of my
remote host, thus needing to be able to delete files which ain't anymore
on the remote host.

Hello everybody.
As I'm reading further the docs, some questions arise.
I want to use BackupPC to simply sync remote hosts, which store from 5GB
to 30GB of data. As I'm using xDSL WAN connections (public internet, of
course using ssh) you can understand that it's *not* feasible to do any

Hello list,
it's a new day, it's a new fight! ;-)
Now that BackupPC is doing what I want it to with rsyncd as method, I
want to stick back to use ssh-tunnel.
I've changed these:
$Conf{DumpPreUserCmd} = '/var/lib/backuppc/tunnel.sh -fC
administra...@mail.omvsa.ch -L 8874:127.0.0.1:873 sleep 20';
Hi,
YES - I'd support that!
I use Gmail and have setup a filter for BackupPC as suggested by others but
I still find list very disorganised and I still think a forum is far, far
superrior.
With forums you can have different areas for:
Installation

Bugs / Issues
