I need to migrate my backupPC server from FC7 to FC10 but I can't just
upgrade my server. I've installed a new HD with FC10 on the same server
so now I need to know how to transfer my setting form the old HD to the
new one without losing my setup. All my backuped file are on a partition
mounted on

I'm trying to understand the various seeetings I need to make to achieve
this and a bit confused.
I'm backing up 9 PC's with BackupPC
I have been asked to make sure ALL hosts keep at least 3 months of Full
backups and assocaited incremental
We are taking about around 5-20Gb in most cases - I don'

Dear all,
I am using 36/72 Backup tapes. I am getting the following error message when I
am trying to backup/transfer from the BackupPC server to tape drive. I would
appreciated if someone can provide me with direction on how should I proceed in
handling the error. the error message is as fol

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your answears. It allowed us to find and solve the problem.
On our BackupPc server, a munin plugin was executing a BackupPC_serverMesg
status command.
Because the PC is abit old and overloaded, the answear of the command often
arrived after the 5sec timeout. Without th

Note that we've all gotten used to trusting tcp crcs for error detection
and it's probably much weaker.
However, it would still be disturbing to realize
Hello list,
I'd like to forget about the archiving host and its function now that
I've set it up. Is there any way to schedule it to run at a given time
from the BackupPC interface? The only alternative solution I can think
of is using a cron job... What are your suggestions?
I'd like to have the

Recently our BackupPC server reached the max limit on the pool
filesystem for performing backups. The BackupPC stopped performing
automatic backups of hosts (as it is supposed to). So we deleted some
data that was on the same partition as the the pool filesystem but the
BackupPC has never cha
