You'll have to find a solution that leaves something final on the client,
like a key, a secret.
The client will eventually change and forget it.
If you tie that to your backup solution, you'll end up as... the guy that
can't even provide a backup solution.
If encryption it is, either the encryptio

There are at least two of them, but here's the one I'm most familiar with:

Hey,
I have a working installation of 3.2.0beta1 on CentOS, but for some reason I
can't get the Archive function to work. Working from the web interface, I
create the archive host, change the target to "/Backups/Archive" (mounted
share on the BackupPC server), check the hosts I want archived, and
You could show her something like TrueCrypt; if she put all the files
she was worried about in a TrueCrypt volume(s), it would just be a
"file" as far as BackupPC is concerned. This is available for Windows
and Linux I believe, maybe Mac's too...

Is there an easy to grasp write-up on how to do that? I saw something about
VSS somewhere, but it was a little disjointed.

I see. Didn't realize the backup created .pst files as well :D
Or see if it can back them up with a different extension.

I suppose I could exclude the individual .pst files, which are

I have an interesting situation here. One of my users refuses to

security of her files. She agreed to participate if I can make the system

Alternatively, you can use VSS to back them up via BackupPC.

But I need to include the backup .pst files :-D
I suppose I could exclude the individual .pst files, which are Outlook.pst,
archive.pst, and some-gobbledygook-that-contains-the-email-address.pst.
Maybe I should see if pfbackup can be configured to drop the backups in a
different folder. Then I ca
Best option is probably to exclude .pst files from your backups.

Hi,
Context: install a secondary backuppc which will backuping some primary
backuppc servers, on more than 2 locations.
No need to keep history on the secondary backuppc, only the last full backup
