This is off the BackupPC topic; but for mobile computing/push-based backups,
we've been using Crashplan Pro (http://www.crashplan.com/). It's commercial,
but it's pretty good. It works much like BackupPC (I think it may use
DeltaSync on the back end) but is push-driven and has a nice GUI interface
Yes, I am modifying TopDir and LogDir and yes, I WAS running a pre-3.2
version of BackupPC. I just updated to 3.2.1 and this fixed the
problem. Links are now being created correctly in my cpool directory.

Any gotcha's anyone can think of before I go ahead with configuration?

I'm going to start small and see where it fails, then deal with it.
This part sounds like it would be a lot simpler and way more effective to
tar archive everything we want to store and then copy the results to tape.
Or - there's a way to tar arch
