In an effort to fulfill an offsite backup requirement I had the idea to place a password protected tar archive onto one or more of our users laptops. The laptops are taken home each night and it would be quick to ftp the archive sometime during the day. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? --

Hi all, I just tried installing BackupPC on a fresh install of CentOS 5.7 x64. It all worked fine up until I was to start the BPC daemon, at which point I got a few lines of perl-error about Lib.pm conflicting with the installed perl. I only used the standard CentOS-repos for updates. Anybody se
