I have to disagree on this one, although

I had a similar question some months ago. I think it can be boiled down to
having the ability to assign different actions to specific return statuses
from DumpPreUserCommand.

Sorry, I'm a Windows guy by default... how does one apply a patch?
There is a utility called patch, the sibling of diff (in Windows, you
can get it as part of CygWin). For a quick and dirty hack, you could just
lowercase the 4th 'A' in line 102 of BackupPC_tarExtract. I _think_ that's
all that
and keep the two full while needed, but then why doesn't it?

So, as you can see, still quite a bit to do here until I can breath easily,
but getting there.
Hope this rant is useful to somebody.

Can you see how many hardlinks are on this file:
/backup/BackupPC/pc/burdata01lx_home/3/f%2fhome_snapshot/f1/f2/f3/f4/f5/f6/f7/f8/f6304847_1.txt
or any of the other failed files.
It's possible that this file is at the hardlink limit (maybe 32000
depending upon the file system). If so,
one (%2f).
All the other partitions are backed up without errors, and as you can see,
not all files in the same directory present this error... So I'm stumped.
Has anyone seen this before?

Hi all,
I have a question as to how cpool stores it's information.
I have everything running good with my backup system, but now I want to
rsync all or /var/lib/backuppc to an external hard drive for an offsite
backup.
When I run the rsync, everything syncs fine except the cpool
hardlinks were preserved. Also, the info page for mv says
that it uses some of the same code as cp -a.
So the question now is, in what circumstances does cp work or not work?

evaluate whether these permisions pose an acceptable security
risk or not (I think they are OK, but they are a little more lenient than

That last part still bothers me though...
