to try this
on a host that has lots of files (1 million files+) and when you have more
than 5 backups.

I'm not certain, but I don't think my centos based v4 system is doing this.

Is this a normal behaviour? Is there something that can be done to improve
this situation so that I have no gaps in my back
Hi,
I am using BackupPC 4 alpha3. I'm trying to troubleshoot some problems but
I cannot see the log content.
/usr/local/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_zcat: can't uncompress XferLOG.44.z
The file is not empty:
-rw-r- 1 backuppc backuppc 4902326 Feb 11 19:48 XferLOG.44.z
What could be the problem?
to backup the host even if it is disabled... :(

I'm also thinking about this. But one other side effect is disk I/O

e use wake on lan? But I'll have to configure each computer and shut
them off after the backup, not even talking of computers not supporting
WoL.
What are your solutions for backups to have less impact as possible on
users?
d my wake up
schedule to follow your advice.
Thanks.

I have a bunch of rdiff-backup data. Can I easily transform that to the
