What problems are you experiencing with the firewire drivers on linux ?
Cause I was thinking of moving over to firewire, from usb, because the
usb drivers are giving me a lot of crap, but if you say firewire is not
that stable either, then thats not very cool!

I'm sort of have the same problem, well with rsync on windows, the rsync
just hangs/freezes, and ofc the backup then does not finish..
Its very inconsistent, it works 99.9% of the time, just sometimes, it
decides to freeze up, and stop responding.
