Hello i have two question.
1. Is it posiible to set backuppc to backup at frist time full and rest do
incremental because right now it doing 1 full 4 inc each 4 days if i remember
well.
2. What is the best way to clean old backups ( ofc i understand that i i will
go with 1 full and rest inc
Hello i got a problem with backuppc.
I got domain controller which is DNS server aswell. When i added host
Somehost and user for him that i earlier created in AD backuppc and i want to
start full backuppc for this user i got an error no ping.
I loged in to AD, went to DNS and i got there same
on another backuppc i've got the same problem on win 7 workstation. I added
backuppc user as administrator and copy operator and it's working, but there i
got backuppc 3.2.0 and smbclient 3.4.7. Today i will try to do it on the newest
backuppc and smbclient 3.6.3 and i will give you some
Problem SOLVED
backuppc user must have Administrator and Backup Operator permission.
If someone got error ACCESS DENIED when he want to connect by smbclient to
windows 7 C$ share then just turn off firewall and UAC. This SOLVED the problem
with access denied to share C$
Next step is downgrade
All workstation are in Workgroup not domain.

Is it possible to run this backup for c$ from user with admin and backup
operator premission ? On another backuppc with domain it works fine. I just add
there backuppc user as local admin on workstation and there is no problem with
backups and access denied. But on backuppc without domain just
one more question, beacuse i got another backuppc and it works fine when i try
to smbclient -U admin //hostname/C$ it's connected but when i try the same way
and i switch hostname with ip so it's smbclient -U admin //xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/C$
it doesn't connecting i tried ip/share and \\ip\share
Ok so this is how it is.
I added on workstation user backuppc and he belongs to the group Administrators
so he has full privileges.
I connect by putty to my backuppc and loged as root. Typed command smbclient -U
backuppc \\SERVER01\C$ then i typed password but i got communicate access
denied.
anyone got idea why local administrator account doesn't have privileges.
When i type from another workstation with windows \\SERVER01\C$ i'm connected
to this share and i don't have this error, only when i try to connect from
ubuntu smbclient it can't read privileges correctly.
Right now i share C$ as backup$ for backuppc with full permissions and i'm
connected. Anyway backup via website when i type backup$ in place of C$ i got
error no file dumped for share backup$
I want to check it via smbclient maybe then i willl get more information but i
don't know what command
i tried this

recurse
prompt
mget Test
it works but it doesn't create tar file , this commands just copy folder test
to my home folder on backuppc

I got a problem with this (topic). When i'm connected to the same wireless via
cable I can start backup on backuppc.
When i got internet from wifi and i'm connected to my work wireless via vpn i
can ping my computer from backuppc but can't start backup. Got information
