instead it will keep the old ones. However when it sees new files in the share
it will store them properly.

i'm getting this error when backing up files from windows using rsync. I've made
a little rearch and it seems that this problem lies within cygwin. There seems
to be a patch available that resolves this issue if you recompile the cygwin.dll
including this patch. However this is a bit nasty approach

I fixed the missing bytes problem and I'm able to restore files normally now. I
still get the linking error though. What do you mean special tricks ? I would

ok i've managed to make it work. Scheduled backups are working ok and updated
files are stored correctly using rsyncd (i used the cygwin-rsync packet on the
windows client). I need to ask you one thing though. IncrPeriod is set as
default 0.97, does this mean backuppc takes incremental backups once
I got BackupPC 3.0 up and running. I'm currently testing it with a windows
client using a samba share. I haven't touched anything in the default
configuration with which I believe the server should take backups of all hosts
every 1 hour excluding the blackout period which is the only thing I change
