Ok tried using backuppc but could not get the backup to launch would not establish a ping. Tried the backuppc.conf ping modification did not work. I did find Ur backup for Windows it looks new only on version 1.1 but its working well. It sets up a client install and server install. I had to

thanks guys. Im not sure if i like the idea of sharing folders on every computer just to backup. i really wanted bacula to work but just couldnt get it to go. I see some great uses and user praises for bacula. Anyone have any experience with Nova backup server or dataserver. Its expensive

I did something similar a number of years ago comparing bacula and backuppc and found that backuppc was much easier to set up. You don't need to install any client software on the windows machines as you can just make file shares availabel to the backuppc server. I do recommend that you look at ht
