Are you just looking to back up one computer, or several?

That is correct; many of the filesystem features on which BackupPC relies
are implemented quite differently, to the extent that they're available at
all under Windows XP.

You may create linux in virtualbox/vmware on XP
then install backuppc there.
backuppc uses hardlinks which is works very well under linux and
nightmare on win*
,so you have to use linux for backuppc ( native or virtual )
