JLuc, Did you run the init.d script as root? The best way to start a process normally started at boot on Debian or a derivative (such as Ubuntu) is with... $ sudo invoke-rc.d backuppc start This ensures that it starts in the same environment that it does at boot, and doesn't pick up any oddit

I found config.pl (instead of configure.pl) and /etc/init.d/backuppc start to launch it (but it stops because unable "to set git to 131" whatever this means) All this seems way too complex. I will probably uninstall it and the bunch of libraries that arrived with it. JL Le 09/11/2013 17:19, JLuc

Hello, On ubuntu 13.10 i have installed backupppc I was very surprised to have to answer to mysterious questions at the end of the install, i did answer as i could and now i dont know how to launch backuppc : "backuppc" commande gives no answer but an error and requesting "http://SOUFFLE/backup
