I can second dthat. For my routine I have a script which rsyncs my
/etc/backuppc folder (including the apache.conf and the host
configurations) to my /var/lib/backuppc folder (which is on an external

In the future, I recommend putting the config on the external drive and
mounting it to /etc/BackupPC.
I'd also recommend copying/tarring /etc/httpd or /etc/nginx (depending
on which web server you use) to the external drive. That lets you bring
up BackupPC quickly on a replacement server after
Good point.
I suggest to mount as Read-only. Should work.

your hdd to /var/lib/BackupPC and start BackupPC.
It should recon the structure

I have a pool of backups in a external hdd, I've seems to have misplaced the
config for them, is there a way to reconfigure backuppc so they can be used
again?
Thanks,

I realized what my problem was with #1 and can now "see" the list of backups
for each client in the Backuppc web interface. However, most of the backup
directories are empty.
But my other questions still stand -- is there any way to reconnect files from
backups to their cpool files if the hard
Hello,
Through a bizarre coincidence of three different mistakes/failures in my backup
systems at once, I lost access to my backup pool, and my attempt to restore
from an old mirrored drive (a ZFS volume) also failed to import.
After a couple weeks of trying to get the ZFS pool to import, I gave
