Youch, I spoke too soon on the upgrade.
I just updated the server running the director, or tried to, as I'd
finished updating all the FDs with your packages.
Looks like the pgsql director and sd packages are broken
The message "packages have been kept back" is an apt-get message; you
can find details about it with a Google search.
Basically, it means that the structure of the packages has been changed
between what is installed and what you are trying to install, and
apt-get is warning you that this is mor

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to tell bacula to stop doing backups while I do some
administative things like labeling tapes (or restoring). This problem has
just bitten me but I don't know bacula well enough yet to work around it.
I have one tape which is in VolStatus=Append and I wanted to add anothe
The mailslot issue is that the mailslot isn't exposed on the scsi
interface. You will need to use the web interface or the front panel
to access the mailslot.

I've just put together a small storage tower for backups, and I can't
figure out how to get Bacula to run the unmount command after a job is
complete. The goal is to make it so that I can just unplug the unit and
carry it off so long as there are no active jobs.
Here's the storage definition:

Hi, I was looking for help with my tape drive in the archives here. Looks
like it's been over a year since the last posts about it and the latest mtx
still doesn't handle the mailslot? Oh well, maybe soon.
Anyway, I wrote this little script that can move tapes around by using the
tape drive's we
Has anyone tried one? Any noticeable performance improvements for
AES-256 operations?
I guess the bigger question is whether Bacula will call in methods of
OpenSSL engine(3).
E.g., Apache mod_ssl needs to have an Engine type explicitly defined in
the config:

Hi,
After adding a new fd to bacula we are reloading the bacula config using the
reload command.
This command was working ok for 3 months. But today when I want to reload the
config I get the following error message:

Dear list,
I have had a little trouble which I mostly caused myself. :) It's another
boring tale of "I lost my catalog".
(Prologue: I'm backing up to a "disk" storage (daily) and a "tape" storage
(weekly). And the physical disk ran full so I tried to purge and
remove "volumes" (files) there. U

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I did not respond earlier but i have been very
busy. The issue is not the network driver as it fairly new (august 2008)
and ther are no other network issues on the server really.
The way I got the bare metal restores to work is by doing a repair install

Hi list,
I am new to this list, and quite new to the Bacula concept too.
I would like run the director and SD on one machine (the server) and
have many different users backing up their stuff to it.
I would like to give my users the ability to connect to the director
with a client software, such
Hi,
I have been using bacula/SQLite for a couple of months now (almost a year)
and it has been running fine up till a week ago. I run a schedule of:
daily incremental
weekly (sunday) differential
monthly full.
On March 1st I upgraded my OS (OpenBSD 4.3 build as a flashboot image) to
OpenBSD 4.
