Thx, it works now. They are located in /sbin/bacula-*

You seem to be invoking a script, rather than the executable. Find out
where the actual executable resides (probably something like /usr/sbin
or /usr/local/sbin or /usr/local/bacula/sbin and then call bacula-sd
with the path to be sure you really run the binary.

Hi every:
I'm configuring a new Bacula and I need to test if all is fine. Reading the
manual and finding how to test my bacula-sd.conf file I can see this:
./bacula-sd -t -c bacula-sd.conf (from /etc/bacula) But when I run this I get

By the way, the restore did occur.. I just don't know what this error indicates
and if I can get it to show success instead of failure
Bacula-dir is running on Linux and the client is FreeBSD
Could that have something to do with it?

Yes. This will not cause any data loss.

If memory serves me correctly, Bacula will not prune a volume which
contains the last remaining full backup of any given job.
Unfortunately I can't find the documentation for this feature. Can someone
remind me where it's lurking?
Thanks

No this is not a problem and it will not cause you to stop recording data.

Haloo,
I hope someone could help me wirth my problem. Monday morning faild my
backup with the following log.
25-May 02:01 bocsles-dir JobId 124: Start Backup JobId 124,
Job=Nightly-Save-bocsles.2009-05-25_02.01.00.02

I am backing up mysql databases on a backup client and then backing up
the database dumps to bacula
on tape as a way of archiving them.
I just went to test a restore of one of the files and got this

have you checked your system log files or dmesg? Is the partition
still mounted rw or was
Hallo,
the messages point to a disc problem.
I see: ERR=disk I/O error
Check your discs!

You can disable the media with an admin job. As soon as you do this the
director does not want it anymore, until you enable it again.
Another way around this is by having an extra weeks worth of tapes in
rotation. Week 1 and Week 2. With a 1 week retention, one set of tapes
is always expired
Dear List,
We have got a single-slot tapedrive and therefor do not have the luxury
of letting Bacula decide which volume/tape to use. So our configuration
forces Bacula to use a Monday-volume(tape), a Tuesday-volume(tape) etc.
I have implemented a RunBeforeJob which checks if the current date i
Hi Arno,
thanks for your reply. In the last days I tried to implement your
suggestions. As far as I could find out the heartbeat interval
configuration option has to be added to the configuration of the
director, so this is how my director configuration looks like right now:

Hello,
I still haven't found a way to tell bacula to restore on a partition different
than C: on windows fd.
Most of my customers have a smaller C: containing the system, and a second
drive to hold big data, so this becomes a trouble when I have to restore a big
amount of data.
How should I writ

Hi,
I have got some importants problems that have caused to me a big
trouble... Well, a client was doing a scheduled backup when, with no
reason, backup finished with error:
25-May 13:04 aosnap JobId 6804: User defined maximum volume capacity
15,000,000,000 exceeded on device "BaculaBackups" (
Try this
mtx -f /dev/sg4 status | more
if you see your tape/devices then try load/unload
mtx -f /dev/sg4 load 1 1
mtx -f /dev/sg4 unload 1 1
