Hello everyone,
I have a 6 drive LTO4 Dell ML6000 changer, running on a Dell Poweredge 2900
with Suse Enterprise 10 SP2, and over the last weeks I've managed to get Bacula
3.0.2 running very well with it.
Except for one problem where every night now a few jobs stall requiring
intervention
What other things could this mean?
I have checked with Wireshark that the Hello command is going to the
win64 fd and being responded to. I have set the same encryption details
at each end. There is no other information anywhere else AFAICS.

I think your explanation suffices such that I would not need an explicit
truncate option for either Differential or Incremental. I guess I was looking
at it more from an MSSQL angle, needing to run backups to truncate transaction

Hello,
We have the following Bacula setup: one remote backup client (file
daemon), and one local file daemon, the storage daemon and the director
on a backup server. In addition to backups from the remote fd and the
local fd, we make a periodical full restore from the remote backup
client's

Hello,
It seems SD behavior changed between 2.X and 3.X.
Here is what I do:
1. Unload tape from the drive
1. Run a job
2. Wait for Bacula to send a mail asking for a tape
3. Load a tape in a drive
4. Wait, and see that bacula never found the tape
5. Type mount; it works

When I try 32bit on 2.4.4 everything works FINE!!!
Thanks a lot!

PS: BTW, I've tried 3.0.2 (64bit) and I've got the same problem.

It is restoring on clients drives?
First time I used the restore, it went local to bacula server..
So, should I put C:\folder if its a win client ?
Yes it should be restoring on the same client the data came from.

Did you use release to do that? If not this is expected behavior. The
unmount command in bacula completely releases the tape drive from
bacula's control.

Bacula actually doesn't know (or care) whether the files it backs up are
from an LVM snapshot or from a regular file location; either way it's
just files.
Generally, with bacula restores, you would restore to a different
location (specified in the restore job) and then move the restored files
