Hi all,
Im thinking about moving existing volumefiles to an other harddisk (in the same
system). Does anybody has some hints how to do this, wothout running into
problems regading the existing catalog-infos ?

Hi all,
i use bacula to create backups on diskstorage. my question here is, will it
work, if I prune / purge a volume manual (by using bconsole) and deleting the
responding volume file afterwards insight the filesystem.
If I prune / purge a volume by bconsole using, will bacula also delete all
Hi Arno,
thx again. the llist tells me near everything I want to know - except
the amount of bytes that is already pruned inside the volume ... is
there any way to see this ?
thx

Hi all,
is there any way to see the actual volume settings - on a per volume
base - like:
- Volume Retention
- Maximum Volume Bytes
- Volume Use Duration
- Purged Baytes insight a volume
(list volumes (in bconsole) does not display the things i'm looking
for). This would make volumeman
Hi,
are you sure, you're able to connect to the sd ??
No firewall in between the clients and the sd ?? For me this looks like
a networkproblem ...
(I'm running here some Windowsboxes with bacula without those issues
...)

Hi Arno
thx for yr information. that means bacula starts reusing only if it
reachs some of those limits (time, count oder jobcount) ?
If I dont set those limits, it will take all space available ??
thx

Hi,
I've running a bacula setup that stores its backups to disk. basicly
i'm very satisfied with the system, but something looks a bit strange
for me.
I get the impresssion, that bacula uses as much diskspace as it can get
and is not reusing pruned diskspace.

Hi all,
I'm running bacula 1.38 and now trieing to setup my tape autoloader.
It's a simple DDS4 Autoloader with 1 drive (nst0), 6 tapes (1-6) and 1
changing unit (sg1).
I read the autochanging chapter into the documentation, but i'm not able
to backup to my tapestation.
I was wondering if anbody
Hi all,
some weeks ago I already asked naerly the same and someone told me, thet
the feature I'm looking for will be included in Version 1.38. Now I'm
upgrading but a bit helpless due I don't find this in the manual.
I'm thinking about a backup strategy like the following:
- bi-weekly full back
Hi Stephan,
i would solve that issue due to network topics
build a vpn (like openvpn) between the systems and then let bacula
connect to the vpn inside ip's. then the ip's are ever the same for the
services. For connecting the outside (dynamic) ip's dyndns usage or
somthing like that would help.
Hi,
do you investigated with tcpdump on both servers if there is any
communication between teh systems on the given ports ?

Hi all,
I've a question relating backupstrategies and the posibilities to build
those with bacula.
in general i like to do the following:
- all backup's will be written to diskspaces (or lets say storage A)
- all data, older than a given time will be moved from storage A to
storage B)
- after an
Hi,
I've some problems to restore files I restored from windows client
(console & windows fd). the backup runs without any errors and problems.
but it seems i'm doing something wrong with the restore.
If I try to restore by using the bconsole fpr windows, I get this message:

Hi there,
