. The current status is 'Used', which is
why Bacula refused to write to it:
Current Volume za01 not acceptable because:
1998 Volume za01 status is Used, but should be Append, Purged or Recycle.
I'm using Bacula Version: 1.38.7 (06 April 2006)
Thanks in advance.

I'm fairly certain that is not actually the case. Run `llist

0).
Okay, that was a excellent tip. For some bizarre reason
be able to limit the time the tape is used by setting
the Volume Use Duration right? I have this set to 16 hours, yet 2 weeks
later, Bacula seems quite happy to continue writing to this tape.
Or am I using the wrong parameter to limit how long a tape is valid for use?

Hi,
We use Bacula in a medium size setup, with 16 machines being backed up
to tape on a Daily Tape Rotation schedule. We're having some problems
with the volume use duration not being applied correctly and we were
wondering if anyone has any suggestions with trying to find the source
of this

Yes, we have a lot of files, but the mysql database seems to keep on
growing without there being a similar increase in number of files we are
backing up.
This is the only reason I can think of at the moment, a timeout on the
mysql query doing the purging.
Thoughts?

and an
differential backup?
Thanks in advance.
