Which retention are you talking about? Volume retention is not guaranteed. You should not rely on it for restoring. Le 5 septembre 2022 12:49:56 GMT+02:00, Antonino Balsamo a écrit : >Hello, > >my scenario is a one job per volume with no recycle and 90 days retention >period, usual full/diff/i

[Bacula-users] Volume data error at 0:0!

Hello everyone, I have an issue when using copy jobs. I use copy jobs to off-site my backups to another SD. However, for some volumes I get errors when they are read (check forwarded mail from bacula): *Volume data error at 0:0! Short block of 3377 bytes on device "FileStorage" (/var/sp

Are you sure that your catalog is named bacula? By default it's named MyCatalog. Check that in your config files. Le 14 octobre 2022 17:33:46 GMT+02:00, Gina Costa a écrit : >Hi, >I have bacula 11 installed in a Debian 10 server. >I want to make a backup of the catalog database using the scri

[Bacula-users] Maximum Pool Size

Hello, Maximum Pool Size is a documented directive in the bacula community manual. However when I want to use it in Bacula 13, the director tells me that it is not supported. Is this expected? Thank you, Mat___ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lis

[Bacula-users] Upper bound to cloud volume size

2022-10-14 Thread Matlink
Hello, In the context of using cloud storage (with s3 plugin) for bacula volumes, how could I ensure that bacula doesn't use more than N bytes of the cloud storage? Since the price grows with the data size, it is useful to guarantee that one won't have an overpriced bill. I've heard that maximum

Re: [Bacula-users] troubles with automatic labeling after ubuntu upgrade

Hey Pete, Your pool looks full. Bacula won't create a volume in this case. However, it should recycle one of the purged volumes. Le 31 mars 2023 01:27:45 GMT+02:00, "Peter N. Steinmetz" a écrit : >Hi, > >So I previously had automatic labeling of disk volumes working on Ubuntu >18.04 (Bionic).

Re: [Bacula-users] Q: cannot truncate volumes while backup running on same storage, need advice to set MaximumCOncurrentJobs properly

2023-04-18 Thread Matlink
Bacula works with disk volumes similarly as it does with tape volumes. Therefore, when truncating, it needs to mount the volume in a free drive to write some metadata on it. If you have no available drive, bacula can't operate. To solve this issue you probably need to declare a second drive like

If you have a read error on that tape, I guess there is little you can do. You should try migration jobs, but that won't give you an exact copy of the tape. You could also do a byte copy of the tape using dd for instance, but you will also copy errors. Le 30 juillet 2023 23:57:18 GMT+02:00, Boru

[Bacula-users] Volume Encryption in Bacula 15

Hi, I'm trying to setup Volume Encryption with self-compiled Bacula 15 from source (Branch-15.0) following this doc https://gitlab.bacula.org/bacula-community-edition/bacula-community/-/blob/Branch-15.0/bacula/src/stored/storage_encryption.rst So I've set something like this in bacula-sd.conf

I answer to myself as I forgot to enable SSL and install libssl and openssl when compiling. Nevertheless, the correct directive is "Volume Encryption" rather than "Block Encryption" as stated in the doc file. Cheers, Le 23/11/2023 à 21:55, Matlink a écrit : Hi, I'

What do you mean by "moved within the same folder"? Do you mean renamed? Bacula does inaccurate incrementals and differentials, which means it does not try to check if files have been moved across folders. This is for performance matters. However, if it matters to you, this is configurable (Accu
