Hi, why would you do that? Can you explain what you want?

Why don't you have a single machine name, i.e. sd.mydomain.it, but resolving to
a different IP address depending on the network you're in?

What do you mean by "moved within the same folder"? Do you mean renamed?
Bacula does inaccurate incrementals and differentials, which means it does not
try to check if files have been moved across folders. This is for performance
matters. However, if it matters to you, this is configurable (Accu
I answer to myself as I forgot to enable SSL and install libssl and
openssl when compiling.
Nevertheless, the correct directive is "Volume Encryption" rather than
"Block Encryption" as stated in the doc file.

Hi,
I'm trying to setup Volume Encryption with self-compiled Bacula 15 from
source (Branch-15.0) following this doc
https://gitlab.bacula.org/bacula-community-edition/bacula-community/-/blob/Branch-15.0/bacula/src/stored/storage_encryption.rst
So I've set something like this in bacula-sd.conf
If you have a read error on that tape, I guess there is little you can do.
You should try migration jobs, but that won't give you an exact copy of the
tape.
You could also do a byte copy of the tape using dd for instance, but you will
also copy errors.

Bacula works with disk volumes similarly as it does with tape volumes.
Therefore, when truncating, it needs to mount the volume in a free drive to
write some metadata on it. If you have no available drive, bacula can't operate.
To solve this issue you probably need to declare a second drive like
Hey Pete,
Your pool looks full. Bacula won't create a volume in this case. However, it
should recycle one of the purged volumes.

Hello,
In the context of using cloud storage (with s3 plugin) for bacula volumes, how
could I ensure that bacula doesn't use more than N bytes of the cloud storage?
Since the price grows with the data size, it is useful to guarantee that one
won't have an overpriced bill.
I've heard that maximum
Hello,
Maximum Pool Size is a documented directive in the bacula community manual.
However when I want to use it in Bacula 13, the director tells me that it is
not supported.
Is this expected?
Thank you,

Are you sure that your catalog is named bacula? By default it's named
MyCatalog. Check that in your config files.

Hello everyone,
I have an issue when using copy jobs. I use copy jobs to off-site my
backups to another SD. However, for some volumes I get errors when they
are read (check forwarded mail from bacula):
*Volume data error at 0:0! Short block of 3377 bytes on device

Which retention are you talking about? Volume retention is not guaranteed. You
should not rely on it for restoring.
