Item 41: compression based on filesize
  Origin: Michael Patzer (mpatzer-at-dunkel.de)
  Date: 19. August 2009
  Status: feature request

What: The ability to define a minimum filesize a file
must have, to run into gzip compression.

Why: If you have a system with a lot of small files
but also some big files, it takes a lot of cpu
and time to compress all that small files.
so at the moment it's better to disable compression
on such systems, to get a much better performance.
but in this case also the big files are not
compressed and need a lot more space.

thx
michael
