Egads, it seems to me that you are confused between Drives and Slots!
>From what I understand, you have a *single* drive, but 8 slots -- i.e. one
read head, and a set of 8 tapes that can be selected one at a time.
If this is the case, your conf file should have only one Device (i.e.
Drive-1).
