Hi all First thanks to the devlopers of bacula, it is a very usefull software!
I'm new to bacula and after severel tests (with bacula 1.36.3 and 1.38.0) I tried to backup our first solaris-server (Solaris 10) with bacula. It worked fine but it should be much faster... I testet it on a Sun V240 (1.3GHz CPU,1.5Gb RAM) which has a U320 Dual-SCSI-Controller. At this controller the Tandberg SDLT320 is attached. I backed up the internal disks (also U320-Disks) to the tape. Bacula got only : 308.2 KB/s FD Bytes Written: 3,142,248,911 SD Bytes Written: 3,182,676,261 Rate: 308.2 KB/s Also the fill command in btape is not as fast as it should be... Wrote blk_block=35000, dev_blk_num=5000 VolBytes=2,257,855,160 rate=2604.2 KB/s This must be a configuration issue because ufsdump is much faster on the same machine (arround 20-30min for 3Gb to backup). I know that bacula can't be as fast as ufsdump. The btape test command was successful... What could I do? If we are successful we will backup all our solaris servers with bacula. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
