Hi,
well the first measure in my transcription uses
octaves on two courses and then the bass courses take
over, which of course are in octaves.

portion in octaves, as in the original organ version; or as a single line,
which would be much much easier to play, and as one guitar version I have seen
has it.

I did a transcription for baroque lute. It works quite
well, better than the 'guitar' version.

The article suggesting that the D minor Toccata (BWV
565) was written for solo violin was unconvincing when I
read it some time ago. It appeared in Early Music 9
(1981): 330-7.
Since then there has been a suggestion that it is for
