This was requested some time ago. There is a ticket at
http://base.thep.lu.se/ticket/978 explaining why it can't be fixed.
A workaround is to match file extensions to MIME types that
are linked with file types.

Thanks for quick reply and sorry for not checking tickets first.
How about change of file type for list of files? It does make sense
since MIME types provide only partial solution (non-generic file
extensions) and looks to me as a good solution.
