It probably helps if you keep your BBDB file size down. I know that my
own 400-odd entries parse pretty quickly, and to be honest I could
probably prune it further.

Note, there's a periodic argument in favour of replacing BBDB's file
format with something like XML, or a database, or $thing. Having
recently modified one of my other toys so that all emacs has to do is
(read database-buffer), I can vouch for the speed or lack there of
that you encounter if you use something other than an emacs sexp as
your storage format and then convert it to a sexp internally. There
are probably better ways to handle this, but not without massively
rewriting parts of BBDB (which some people probably think wouldn't be
a bad idea either :))

And finally, since I'm in a chatty mood: I'm sorry about the recent
flood of spam on the list, but I'm still retaining the open list
policy for the same reasons as previously - any hurdle toward a new
user getting help (i.e. you must subscribe before you can ask a
question) is a bad thing. I've asked SourceForge about improved spam
filtering which they've been promising for a while now, but my request
is still in the queue. I may move the list (again) to somewhere that
provides proper filtering if the situation doesn't improve.

Regards,
Waider.

`F' is group reply. This is because `G' is for sort and `g' is for get new
mail. And `G' is for sort because `sort' used be called `group', and anyway
`S' is for save mailbox and `s' is for file message in folder, because `f' is
group reply and `F' is group reply including original text.
