With the rise of the spam plague, I've been finding it difficult to figure out how to configure BBDB's auto-address snarfing.
My problem is the following: if I use bbdb-ignore-most-messages, then I get practically nothing. But if I use bbdb-ignore-some-messages, I end up with a BBDB clogged with spammers and with the bogon email addresses they send to....
Seems like what I'd like is something where you have to get over an initial hurdle to be a candidate, then there's a second stage where I can filter out known bad candidates (seems like there are a bunch of mailing lists where I see different names for the same list, etc., etc.).
Is there already support for such a thing? If so, has anyone found a good method for constructing a function for the initial (spam address elimination) filter?
It wouldn't be at all hard to hack something like this together, but figuring out how to filter most of the garbage addresses initially seems like a chore.
