name/net cycle completion in message buffer

Hi, I'd like to have bbdb cycle these data when I'm composing a message without having started gnus. Hitting C-x m gives a message mode buffer, but in contrast with doing it once gnus was started, cycle completion doesn't work, giving an error[i]. Although I prefer to have this info in my
